Important Shopping Information for Customers during the COVID-19 Pandemic

The health and safety of our staff and customers is essential and we have adopted some new rules for shopping during this stressful time.  Like many businesses, we have had to adjust our hours of operation and the way we do business as the COVID-19 global pandemic changes almost daily. Please be sure to read our SHOPPING RULES below.

NEW RULES UPDATED JUNE 1, 2020 (new rules are highlighted in red):

• Paley's is a working farm, not a recreational area. Please do not wonder into our fields or grow houses as they are not open to the public.  When the chain gates are up to enter our parking lot, do NOT enter the farm property. If you enter the property when we are closed, our security cameras will issue a trespassing alert.
• When shopping for plants and food, please shop for plants first and then get food. Please do NOT fill baskets/carts with food and leave them on the counters or in the store. One person per party, please, to allow others to shop.
• Shopping for food/groceries: Re-usable bags may be used at checkout. Please do not use your re-usable bag as a shopping basket.
• NO PETS ALLOWED IN NURSERY, GREENHOUSE OR INSIDE THE STORE per Connecticut Dept of Agriculture. Please leave your pets at home or in your car (exercise caution on warm days).
• LITTERING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. We are shocked at how many people discard their used gloves, masks, wipes and other trash in our parking lot.  We suggest everyone keep a plastic bag in their vehicles to hold your trash which you can then discard when you get home. If you are caught littering, you will no longer be welcome to shop at Paley's. 
• For the safety of our staff and patrons, our RESTROOM IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. Please plan accordingly.
• If you have a cough, fever or sore throat DO NOT ENTER the store, greenhouse or nursery.
• We are STRICTLY ENFORCING the limit of just five (5) customers maximum inside the store at a time. We will respectfully request that you wait outside until someone leaves the store. Please be mindful that others may be waiting to enter the store before you.
• When browsing our greenhouse, nursery and inside the store, practice social distancing and keep a minimum of 6 feet between people.
• Face mask/scarf are required for EVERYONE. No Exceptions! Gloves are optional but we do suggest you wear.
• Please LIMIT one shopper per family. 
• We now require that you LEAVE ALL CHILDREN AT HOME.
• We are taking orders and curbside pickup. We urge you to use the email order form for curbside pick up or delivery. If you must order by phone, please call 860-364-0674 between 8:00 am and 11:00 am Monday-Friday and if you get our voicemail, please leave your name and number so we can call you back. Please do not leave your order in the message. 
• PLEASE commit to purchasing a product before handling it for the safety of those shopping after you.
• Our Staff is working very hard to serve the needs of all of our customers but mistakes and miscommunications happen. When a mistake does happen, we do what we can to make it right. Please don't take your frustration or anger out on our staff. Verbal abuse is unnecessary and not tolerated at Paley's Farm Market.

We are all in this together. All of us at Paley's appreciate your patience and cooperation as we navigate the new rules and requirements of operating safely during this very challenging and difficult time.
